Our Senior Moving Process

1. In-Home Consultation

We visit the current home to assess the inventory. We discuss the floor plan of the new residence to help determine what will fit.

2. The Downsizing Plan

We work with the senior and the family to sort items. We coordinate the shipment of gifts to family members and the donation of unwanted items.

3. Packing and Prep

Our gentle packers arrive. We label boxes clearly, often by room or even by drawer content, to make unpacking easier for the senior.

4. Moving Day

We transport the items to the new community. We handle the loading dock and elevator logistics.

5. Settling In

We place the furniture exactly where the senior wants it. We can assist with unpacking essentials like bedding, toiletries, and kitchen items immediately.

Tips for Helping Seniors Move

Start Early

Can you move someone with dementia?

Yes. Our crews are trained to be patient and respectful. For clients with memory issues, we recommend having a family member present to provide comfort, while we handle the physical work efficiently and quietly to minimize agitation.

Do you offer discounts for seniors?

Can you help distribute items to family members?

We provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI). Most senior communities require movers to prove they have liability coverage before they are allowed on the property. We send this directly to the building management before move day.

Can you move plants?

We can move plants on local moves. However, for long-distance moves or moves into certain sterile medical facilities, plants may not be allowed. We will advise you based on the specific regulations of your new community.

What is an "Internal Move"?

An internal move occurs within the same building or campus. For example, moving a resident from an apartment on the 3rd floor to a nursing unit on the 1st floor. We handle the packing and transport of items between rooms.

How do you handle old furniture we don't want?
