When a company has been around for over 130 years, it doesn’t just have a story. It has a history.
The year was 1888. The Hollander family had just gone into business providing storage on the north side of Chicago. Given that the city was less than two decades removed from the Great Chicago Fire, the demand for their warehouses was strong. Not long afterward, the Hollanders found themselves providing transportation services for the items their clients wished to store.
Pulled by sturdy draft horses, the signature red Hollander wagons rolled through Chicago as she rose from the ashes. And in 1901, Hollander constructed their first fireproof warehouse. More than a century later, the red trucks of Hollander Storage & Moving are still on the streets in the Windy City.
